What We're About
We're about helping kids do better.   We believe that education is fun -- and kids need to know what's expected of them.   Towards that end, we have developed one of the world's most sophisticated set of learning tools that have been used by over 1,000,000 students.

We maintain the largest bank of remediated test questions in the world -- spanning grades 2nd-12th -- covering the following academic disciplines.

Art & Music History
Biology Language Arts
Chemistry Mathematics
Current Events Physics
Earth Science Social Studies
Health & Nutrition

Thousands of our Mathematics and Language Arts (ELA) test questions are correlated to current (2005-06) grade-level standards, providing a method of accurately comparing a student's academic achievement across district and state boundaries.

Here's Some of What Makes Up National Scholar

We provide unique learning and sharing venues for every student, including:
  • BrainSprints (™)

Work your way through the academic year -- one Brain Sprint at a time.   These 'mini tests' of 5 questions lead you step-by-step from one teaching standard to the next ... winning awards and prizes as you go.   It's a fun, fast and rewarding way to stay 'ahead of the class' !   ( Every BrainSprint is immediately scored and you're shown how to arrive at the correct answer ... )
Click on "1st Time User" back on the Main Menu to get started!

  • BrainFreezers ™ & BrainStorms ™

Want to find out how much you really know? Like a little competition? Here's a fun way to challenge and be challenged to short (15 minute) intense little Competitions across our wide range of academic areas. Students can either select their own opponent or let us do the picking -- either way, it's fast-paced mental gymnastics -- an on-line "academic marathon"! Of course, every Competition is instantly scored with full remediation.

  • Progress & Learning Sessions

This is the key to National Scholar! Here you'll find:

    • Diagnostic Learning (™)
These provide an unprecedented opportunity for the student (and classroom teacher) to determine exactly where each student stands with respect to the teaching standards for her grade level in either Mathematics or Language Arts.   Select from one of the "global" sessions, or create one of your own.   Take the results of each Diagnostic exercise and automatically feed the deficient areas into a custom Independent Learning Plan. (there is nothing else like this anywhere!)

    • Automatic Individualized Learning Plans (AutoILP)

WOW! A completely unique and customized AutoILP based on aligned diagnostic results. Step by step through each benchmark, every student is presented carefully correlated learning tools, media and resources, coupled with our sophisticated (and patent-pending) re-tesing feedback system.   (there is nothing else like this anywhere!)

    • Wiki-Tests ™ and Shared Learning Plans
Use one of our "global" sessions to provide detailed instruction, feedback testing and comprehensive remediation, or create one of your own (using our super-cool WIKI) -- we'll administer and score it. Fully integrated with our Learn*Links ™ database of workbook, textbook and web-based learning resources.

  • Learning*Navigator

Here is where learning becomes fun! For each benchmark, the student is presented with individually rated Learn*Links. Confused about a concept? Just click "Learn*More" and precedent and underlying concepts (benchmarks) are presented -- one level at a time. Nothing else like it ... anywhere!   Learn at your own speed.  It's like having a personal teacher!
